PLYMOUTH, N.H. – George William Williams, formerly of Millinocket, passed away Aug. 27, 2006, at the New Hampshire Veteran’s Home, Tilton, N.H., after a long illness. He was born Aug. 14, 1922, in Henrietta, Mo., the son of Victor and Nora Williams. After high school, George served in the U.S. Air Force and was then employed by Great Northern Paper Co. for 35 years, until his retirement in 1979. He enjoyed retirement in Zephyrhills, Fla., and summering at “a little piece of heaven” in Perry. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marion Williams; children, Nada Call Williams, Don Williams and his wife, Jaye, of Plymouth, N.H.; sisters, Mary Stoutimore and Judy Turnage; a “special” niece, Rose Williams of Missouri; daughter-in-law, Stacey Williams; son-in-law, David Call; and grandchildren, Kristen Williams, Nikki Williams, Jaime Laliberte, Matt Call, Aaron Williams and Isaac Williams. George was predeceased by his son, George C. Williams; and siblings, Houston “Doc” Williams, Marvin Williams and Faye Endsley. A celebration of his life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 3, at the First Baptist Church, Millinocket.
