ASHLAND – Gerald Avery, 73, died Feb. 4, 2004, at a Presque Isle hospital. He was born April 6, 1930, in Washburn, the son of Thomas and Laura Avery. Gerald worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Lane Construction Company for many years. He is survived by four daughters, Merlene Saucier and her husband, Ray, of Greenbush, Donna Boyles and her husband, Edward, of Milford, Brenda Pinette and her husband, Greg, Deborah Avery and her fianc_, Paul Pelletier, all of Ashland; two sons, James Avery and his wife, Casey, of Belmont, N.H., Michael Avery and his wife, Gayle Michaud, of Presque Isle; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Tina (Clark) Avery in 1998. A graveside committal service will be held in the spring at a time and date to be announced.
