LEVANT – Gerald Bosse, 59, died unexpectedly Dec. 18, 2007, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Nov. 10, 1948, in Lewiston, the son of Emile L. and Marie Jean (Hamann) Bosse. Gerry passed quickly, but the impression he left was a lasting one. Whether it be a gaze from his kind eyes, a smile or a hug, he epitomized love. His selflessness and compassion were a beacon in a world of darkness; his wisdom was a foghorn announcing the presence of faith. Yet, he was in fact, extremely insecure. The reason most people did not notice his insecurity was because he was more concerned with the comfort of others and his actions portrayed his loyalty. Gerry is survived by his wife, Anita; a son, Geoffrey and his wife, Shauna and their children, Madeline and Noah; a son, Boss; one brother, Louis and his wife, Jean; two sisters, Claire and her husband, John, and Diane and her husband, Charles; several nieces and nephews; and a family friend, Jocelyn Plourde. Gerry was predeceased by his sister, Fern and her husband, Carroll. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A celebration of his life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at Harvest Chapel, Levant, with Pastor Stephen D. Hall and the Rev. Rick Lambert officiating. Those who wish to remember Gerry in a special way may make gifts in his memory to Harvest Chapel Deacon’s Fund, P.O. Box 27, Levant, ME 04456. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.BrookingsSmith.com. The greatest man I ever knew died on Tuesday. I do not mourn him, nor should you, for he would not want you to.
