ORONO – Gerald “Jerry” R. Anderson, 61, died April 30, 2004, at his Orono home. He was born June 25, 1943, in Bar Harbor, the son of Emery and Emily (Miller) Anderson. Jerry served in Germany with the U.S. Army. He was the manager of the Bangor Humane Society for 20 years, was president of the Coons Hunters Club and loved hunting and fishing, was the constable for the town of Hudson, made deliveries for Food for Life, was a member of the Hudson Baptist Church, and especially loved children. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Gloria (Robbins) Anderson of Orono; two sons, David Niles, Stephen Niles and his wife, Judy, all of Atlanta, Ga.; seven daughters, Carolyn Scott of Kenduskeag, Avis and her husband, Bub Seger, of Kenduskeag, Nathalie and her husband, Stephen Ernst, of New York, Bettie Hanson of Old Town, Lisa and her husband, Duane, of Orono, Jerri Walker, Patty Walker, both of Saco; one sister and her husband, Elna and Steve Strout of Bar Harbor; a very special mother-in-law, Vera Chaples of Bangor; one very special aunt, Carolyn Howard of Bar Harbor; aunts, Elvera Page of Florida, Louise Hitchcock of Bar Harbor; 24 grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; and all his close friends at Glenridge Apartments in Orono. Friends may call 3:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Jim Colley, pastor of the Hudson Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be at the Hudson Village Cemetery. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Hudson Baptist Church following the interment. <
