BELFAST – Geraldine Elizabeth Morrison, 70, passed away Monday, April 24, 2006, at a Rockland nursing home. She was born March 20, 1936, in Calais, the daughter of Maurice and Erena (Getchell) Hanson. At an early age, her family moved to the Belfast area where she lived the rest of her life. Geraldine was the business manager for SAD 56 for 25 years in addition to owning her own craft business, Angel Stitches. She loved cross-stitching, knitting, yard sales, word puzzles, camping and Happy Meals. Geraldine was a lifelong member of the Searsport and Belfast United Methodist Churches and enjoyed singing in the choir. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two husbands, Donald P. Kimball who died in 1963 and Raymond Morrison who died in 1979. Geraldine is survived by three children, Valerie Henderson and husband, Bob, of Belfast, Patrick L. Kimball and wife, Hope, of Monroe and Sandra Carter of Pittsfield; two brothers, Pastor Stephen Hanson of Middleton, N.H. and Dana Hanson; three grandchildren, Jessie, Noah and Dustin; and a great-grandson, Isaac; a special friend and sister-in-law, Mary Perkins and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, April 27, at the Belfast United Methodist Church, Mill Lane, Belfast with the Rev. David Abbott officiating. Friends are invited to gather after the service at the church for a time of fellowship. Burial will take place at Mount Prospect Cemetery, Stockton Springs.
