MADAWASKA – Germain John Cyr, 78, died April 12, 2004, at a Bangor hospital He was born Aug. 29, 1925 in Green River, N.B. Canada on, son of Denis L. and Marie (Roi) Cyr. Germain was a loving husband and also a beloved father. He and his wife operated a neighborhood store for 22 years in Madawaska. He also worked at Fraser Paper Co. as a starch control operator for 43 years. He was a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Council No. 2638 at Madawaska. He is survived by his wife, Germaine (Beaulieu) Cyr of Madawaska; two sons, Jim of Toronto, Ontario, and Nelson and his wife, Linda, of Pomfret Center, Conn.; and one daughter, Nancy and her husband, Donald Chamberlain of St. Agatha. He also leaves four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, in the St. Thomas Church and interment will be in St. David Cemetery. Visiting hours at the Daigle Funeral Home will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. Friday until time of services.
