KNOX – Gertrude “Trudy” Emerson, 65, of Knox, passed away Aug. 9, 2005, at a local hospital. She was born March 5, 1940, in Nyack, N.Y., the daughter of Phillip and Mary (Picarello) Tudesco. Trudy worked for many years as an LPN, then went back to school and received her bachelors degree in 1990 and became an RN. Trudy worked at the Waldo County General Hospital and Waldo County Home Health. She was always very caring and dedicated to her patients. Trudy was a loving wife, mother, friend and a strong woman that kept her family and extended family together. Trudy was always full of energy and was very involved with her grandchildren. She loved gardening, animals, cooking and planning annual family gatherings. She was predeceased by her sister, Josephine Estep. Trudy is survived by her husband of 45 years, Harold, of Knox; son, Anthony and wife, Dorrit; daughters, Karen Bridges and husband, Bill, Phyllis Styspeck and husband, Mark, Jennifer Piersiak and husband, Robert, and Mary Emerson; grandchildren, Mark, Jessica and Carrie Emerson, Thomas Bridges, Robert, Kathryn, Daniel and Emily Piersiak, Paul Emerson and Nicholas Knight; a niece and nephew, Tammy and Phillip Estep; many other nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, 2005, at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
