EAST MILLINOCKET – Gilman A. St. Peter, 89, died Monday, Sept. 17, 2007, at a Millinocket health care facility. He was born March 28, 1918, in Guerette, the son of Jules and Ozithe` (Marquis) St. Peter. Gilman dedicated his life to taking care of and providing for his family. He was an affable and gregarious personality, and was well known in the Katahdin Region and beyond. Gilman worked as watchman at Great Northern Paper Co., East Millinocket, for 28 years. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Rita M. (Guerette) St. Peter of Millinocket; six children, Claudette Tardy and her husband, Glen, of Millinocket, Harold St. Peter and his wife, Mary Ann, of Millinocket Lake, Charlotte Purcell and her husband, Michael, of East Millinocket, Tom St. Peter of St. Petersburg, Fla., Pamela Bye and her husband, Dan, of Maple Plain, Minn., and Marsha Northway and her husband, Mike, of Savannah, Ga.; a brother, Norman St. Peter of Guerette; 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters, Romeo, Lawrence, Lillian, his twin sister, Gilmay, Winnie, Orilla, Lucy and Robertine. Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket, where a rosary service will be held 7 p.m. conducted by the Daughters of Isabella, St. Ann’s Circle. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 58 Cedar St., East Millinocket, with the Rev. Joel Cyr, pastor, presider.
