CORINNA – Gladys H. Frost, 83, died July 20, 2006, at a Dexter healthcare facility. She was born Oct. 15, 1922, in Corinna, a daughter of Howard and Bessie (Haynes) Hartley. She was a graduate of Corinna Union Academy, and she later married Carl Frost Feb. 5, 1944, while he was serving in the U.S. Army during World War II. Gladys worked as a finish inspector at Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna for 27 years. She and Carl attended both the Pleasant Street Christian and Corinna United Methodist churches, both of Corinna. She thoroughly enjoyed retirement and looked forward to yard sales, auctions, doll shows and her daily trips with Carl to McDonalds. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of nearly 60 years Nov. 22, 2004; and a sister, Hazel (Hartley) Clarke. Gladys is survived by three brothers, Perley Hartley and his wife, Marie, Darrell Hartley and his wife, Judy and Earl Hartley and his wife, Shirley, all of Corinna; a sister, Dot Nason and her husband, Harry, of Newport; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. At her request, there will be no visiting hours. A graveside funeral service and committal prayers will be held 2 p.m. Monday, July 24, at Morse’s Corner Cemetery, Corinna, with the Rev.
