MILLINOCKET – Gladys Mary Taylor, 91, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, at Millinocket Regional Hospital. She was born Sept. 4, 1916, the daughter of John Leo and Ella (Walls) McFarlane. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, William Taylor Sr.; daughter, Sylvia Jeanne Small; sisters, Mabel Sawyer, Anna Nerney, Bernetta Trainor, Patricia Dunne, Leona Rice and Janice McFarlane; brother, John McFarlane and his wife, Dolores; several nieces and nephews. Gladys is survived by her children, William Taylor Jr. of Annandale, N.J., Robert Taylor and wife, Teresa Pennington, of Waynesville, N.C., Roxanne DiMarco and husband, Gary, of Gardiner and Janice Nicholson of Newcastle; granddaughter, Chris Taylor; grandsons, Anthony DiMarco, Christopher DiMarco, Eron Nicholson and Elija Tuell; sister and friend, Alice Boynton and husband, Harold; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Betty Ann Wheaton, Shirley Donovan and Bill Thorpe. Gladys was a wonderful cook and homemaker, nursery school teacher and seamstress, who liked to quilt and read. She was a 50-year member and past regent of Daughters of Isabella, Little Flower Circle and was active in many church and charitable groups. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at a date to be announced in the springtime, with an interment afterwards at Millinocket Cemetery.
