WINN, LEE and PALMER, Alaska – Glen H. Gordon, 56, passed away peacefully May 3, 2008, due to cardiac illness at a hospital in Anchorage, Alaska. Glen was born April 2, 1952, in Lincoln, the son of Galen and Elizabeth Gordon. He was raised on a farm in Winn and attended schools in Winn and Lee. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force and returned to the Winn/Lee area, where he spent many years working in the woods. He lived these past 14 years in Alaska, working in the logging industry, fishing canneries, ranching and mountains, all in a land he grew to love so much. His easy-going friendly manner enabled him to make many wonderful friends and memories along the way, both in Alaska and here in Maine. His favorite saying was, “Life is good.” He is survived by his father, Galen Gordon and stepmother, Erlene, of Passadumkeag; sister, Roberta Priest of Bangor; brother, Charles Gordon and companion, Wendy, of Medway; sister, Joy Jipson and husband, Tim, of Burlington; sister, Cheryl Harvey and husband, Frank, of Largo, Fla.; many nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Mike Rollins; along with Glen’s extended family on Lazy Mountain, Palmer, Alaska. Glen was predeceased by his mother and stepfather, Elizabeth and Donald Worthington. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Glen’s life 1 p.m. Saturday, May 31, at the home of Joy and Tim Jipson, 29 James Jipson Road, Burlington.
