BAILEYVILLE – Glenn Leroy Martin, 48, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, May 3, 2008. He was born April 30, 1960, in Leominster, Mass., the only son of Leroy and Avis (King) Martin. Glenn worked at the OSB Plant and Louisiana Pacific until its closing and then worked construction jobs when he could. Glenn loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and camping. He had a special love for dogs and watching basketball and baseball games. Glenn was predeceased by his father, Leroy Martin in 1991; his only child, Jason Martin in 2005; his oldest sister, Karen in 2006; grandparents, Walter and Reta King and Alymer and Norma Martin; many uncles, aunts and cousins; and his four-legged baby and companion, Penny. Glenn is survived by his mother, Avis McIntyre; two sisters, Janet Casey and Stephen Johnson, and Nancy and Stephen Lincoln, all of Baileyville; his one and only true love, Laura Lee Martin of Iowa; special sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Tom Merritt; nieces, Monica and Heather Martin; nephews, Brent Martin, Adam and Chad Casey, Stevie, Ryan and Damon Lincoln and J.D. McLaughlin; a special friend and part of the family, Debbie (Kneeland) Poulzun of Connecticut; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; and some of his longtime and special friends, John Murphy, Russell Shirley, Buzzy Seavey, Roger Harriman, Terry Gould, Tommy Perkins, Danny Ayers, and a special little guy, Riley Ayers Lyons, who referred to Glenn as “Papa G.” He will be missed and forever loved by his family and friends. A graveside service will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, May 10, at Woodland Cemetery, Baileyville.
