LEE – Glennis M. Bowker, 72, wife of the late Halton Bowker, died Nov. 3, 2003, at a Lincoln hospital. She was born in Lee, April 18, 1931, the daughter of John Ernest Gifford and Ida (Chesley) Gifford. Glennis attended Lee schools and graduated from Lee Academy. For years, she worked as a supermarket clerk at Giguere’s, Columbia, Shop N Save, and Lounsbury’s, all at the same location in Lincoln. After retirement, she and Halton enjoyed spending their winters in Zephyrhills, Fla. She was a faithful member of the CMA church in Lee. She is survived by a daughter, Deborah Goodwin of Longview, Texas; a son, Michael and his wife, Kelly, of Lee; four granddaughters, Jessica and Erin Goodwin of Longview, Texas, Miranda Bowker of Lee and Amy Wilson, of Lincoln; a grandson, Cory Bowker of Lee; a brother, John Gifford and his wife, Kim; and a nephew, Justin Gifford. In addition to her husband, Halton, she was predeceased by a son, Halton Bowker Jr.; and a nephew, Joshua Gifford. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Vince Hartford officiating.
