RIDGEFIELD, Conn. – Gloria E. Amero, 75, wife of Ronald A. Amero, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2007, at her home. Mrs. Amero was born Aug. 8, 1931, in Old Town, a daughter of the late Alphonse and Edna (Morin) Seymour. She attended Maine schools. A Connecticut resident since 1953, first settling in Stamford, Conn., she has been a resident of Ridgefield, Conn., since 1959. She was a waitress at the former King Neptune Restaurant for 28 years. She was also employed at Lake Avenue Coffee Shop, Danbury, Conn., and Georgetown Pizza, Georgetown, Conn., for the past 11 years. An avid bingo player, she also enjoyed her trips to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun. Mrs. Amero was a member of St. Elizabeth Seton Church, Ridgefield, Conn., as well as a member of its prime timers. In addition to her husband, Ronald of Ridgefield, Conn., Gloria is survived by three children and an extended family of their spouses, children, stepchildren and siblings, a daughter, Paula Schumacher and her husband, Paul, of New Fairfield, Conn., their daughter, Haley and Paul’s two daughters, Chelsea and Suzanna; the Amero’s oldest son, Ronald J. Amero and his wife, Susan, of Mukwanago, Wis., their son, David, Susan’s children, Sarah and Gabe, Ron’s three children, Christopher, Brittany and Justin and his fiance, Kristene, and their daughter, Harper; son, Shawn and his wife, Karen, of Bradenton, Fla., and their daughter, Ashley and Shawn’s two children, Shawn R. O. and Candace; two sisters, Barbara Merchant and her husband, Lewis, of Levant and Shirley Arsenault of Clarks-ville, Tenn., as well as many nieces and nephews. A concelebrated Mass of Christian burial was celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 520 Ridgebury Road, Ridgefield, Conn. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Old Town, in the spring. Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield, Conn., was in charge of arrangements.
