MILLINOCKET – Gloria Marie Harvey, 68, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Dec. 14, 2006, in Millinocket. She was born Sept. 5, 1938, in Burlington, the daughter of Hollis and Nettie (Howard) Shorey. Gloria was one of five children. For 49 years, she was the devoted wife of Richard Harvey who predeceased her in March of 2006. She was a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a homemaker first, and she also owned and operated Gloria’s Thrift Store for 13 years. Gloria was a volunteer for St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church and was program director for the Millinocket area TOPS program. In addition to her mother, Nettie Shorey, Gloria is survived by three sons, Patrick, Jon and James Harvey; four daughters, Ellen Flynn, Ruth McGrath, Jayne Jones and Joanne Lane; an honorary daughter, Regina Tremblay; a brother, Donald Shorey; three sisters, Annette Noyes, Colleen Campbell and Susan Dilmore; grandchildren, Ryan McGrath and his wife, Summer, Marissa and Ashley McGrath, Michael Keim, Jessica and Dustin Harvey, Jeffrey, Samantha and Jasmine Jones, Jessica and Aaron Lane, Jon E. Harvey, Crystal and Justin Flynn, Chelsea and Thomas Sloan, Richard and Shauna Harvey, and Christopher Allen; five great-grandchildren, Tessa Nash, Amir Saunders, Camryn Bois, Wesley Keim and Ireland McGrath; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Gloria was also the much-loved mother-in-law of Thomas McGrath, Jeffrey Jones and Kenneth Lane. In honor of Gloria’s wishes, funeral services will be private.
