MILLINOCKET – Gordon E. Farquhar Sr., 79, died at a local hospital Thurs-day, Oct. 28, 2004. He was born Sept. 3, 1925, in Millinocket, the son of John and Helen (Lewis) Farquhar Sr. Gordon was a lifelong resident of Millinocket where he had worked for Great Northern Paper Co. for 43 years. He retired from Great Northern in 1986. He served his country during World War II with the U.S. Navy. Gordon was a member of Nollesemic Lodge No. 205. Gordon was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing. He was especially very fond of hunting camp “Mouse Haven”. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Winona (Webb) Farquhar of Millinocket; three children, Helen and husband, Bill Campbell, Gordon and wife, Jan Farquhar, and Wendy and husband, Gil Pelletier, all of Millinocket; his stepchildren, Gary Pulkkinen of Millinocket, Raymond and wife, Maureen Pulkkinen, of Spencer, Ohio, Arnie Pulkkinen of Millinocket, and Tina and husband, Tom Weeks, of Bridgewater, N.J.; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four brothers and their spouses, Douglas and Carrie Farquhar of Millinocket, John Farquhar, Jr. of Millinocket, Donald and Beverly Farquhar of Scarborough, and Stewart and Trudy Farquhar of Millinocket; one sister, Marjorie and husband Ralph Moore of Millinocket; several nieces and nephews. Gordon will also be missed by his favorite dog, Sandy. Gordon was predeceased by his first wife, Maybelle (Tapley) Farquhar; his second wife, Gleigh (McAllister) Farquhar; his parents; and a daughter-in-law, Vicki Farquhar. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the R. L. Bouchard Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket, where funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004, with the Rev.
