TROY – Gordon J. Thompson, 66, died Jan. 12, 2006, at a Bangor hospital from injuries received in an automobile accident. He was born April 15, 1939, at Stockton Springs, a son of Gordon J. and Charlotte (Clark) Thompson Sr. He was a graduate of Stockton Springs High School. He was a millwright by trade, having worked at a number of nuclear power plants and paper mills throughout the country. He enjoyed karate and was a member of the Karate Hall of Fame. Tom will also be remembered as a family man and was especially close to his granddaughter. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Barbara Jean (Overlock) Thompson also of Troy; a son, Justin J. D. Thompson of Louisiana; a daughter, Erica French of Troy; three sisters, Frances Thompson and Charlotte Gross, both of Stockton Springs, Lucille and husband, Wayne Gardiner, of Searsport; a dear granddaughter, Amanda Jean Ivy French; a special friend, Fred McGuire and his family; and two nephews. He was predeceased by a niece, Sabrina. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main St., Newport. No other services are scheduled at this time.
