VEAZIE and TALMADGE Grace M. Woods, 83, wife of the late Leonard C. “Red” Woods, died July 5, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. She was born April 13, 1921, in Old Town, the daughter of William and Tressa (Jollymore) Treadwell. She was a member of the Veazie Senior Citizens. Mrs. Woods had worked at Emple Knitting Mills. Grace’s yearly ambition was to be the first and last person to water ski on Dobsis Lake in Lakeville, even when that meant pushing the ice out of the lake. She was predeceased by a son, Robert “Bobby” L. Woods; and a daughter, L. Trudy (Woods) Olesky. Surviving are a daughter, Betty Sargent and her husband, Harold, of Talmadge; a son-in-law, Robert “Bob” Olesky of Corinth; six grandchildren, Richard, Robin, Michael, Melissa, Lisa, Beckie; 10 great-grandchildren, Kristin, Taylor, Robbie, Eric, Catherine, Brandon, Brianna, Meagan, Justin, Codee; one great-great-granddaughter, Savannah; cousins, nieces and nephews. Services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, July 10, 2004, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Thomas Smith, officiating. Friends may call 1 p.m. Saturday until time of service. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Veazie. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Brookings-Smith, Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor, following the service. Gifts in her memory may be sent to the Calais Regional Hospital, 22 Hospital Lane, Calais, ME 04619.
