PRESQUE ISLE – Graden U. Kinney, 87, died Saturday, March 31, 2007, at a Presque Isle nursing home. He was born Oct. 8, 1919, in Easton, the son of the late James A. and Wilhemmia (McDougal) Kinney. Graden served in the U.S. Army and fought for his country during World War II. He worked for 21 years in civil service as a housing maintenance foreman. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy T. (Billings) Kinney of Presque Isle; four sons, Robert G. Kinney and his wife, Barbara, of Presque Isle, Richard J. Kinney and his wife, Mary, of Riverside, Calif., David Kinney Sr. and his wife, Mary Ellen, of Tariffville, Conn., and Jeffery Kinney of Caribou; eight grandchildren, Jim, Kathy, Kristyn, Robbie, Julie, Rene, Dianna and David Jr.; two sisters, Madeline Templeton of Daytona, Fla., and Virginia Brennan of Lowell, Mass.; two brothers, Charles Kinney and his wife, Barbara, of Washington and Milton Kinney and his wife, Jeannie, of Largo, Fla. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, April 2, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, with the Rev. Charles Kinney officiating. Friends may call noon until time of service. Interment will take place at a later date at the Northern Maine Veterans’ Cemetery, Caribou.
