WISCASSET and SANDY POINT – Grafton “Barney” O. DeRedin Jr., 43, died Nov. 15, 2004. He was born Aug. 29, 1961, in Bangor, the son of Leola (Theriault) and Grafton O. DeRedin Sr. Barney loved spending time with his children camping, fishing, biking, and other sporting activities. He was an avid outdoorsman and hunter. He was extremely likeable and made friends easily with his charismatic smile and great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Barney is survived by his parents, Leola and Grafton O. DeRedin Jr. of Sandy Point; his wife, Nancy A. (Sullivan) DeRedin and their two children, Alexandria and Thomas, of Wiscasset; two sisters, Marianne Bridges and her husband, Raymond, of Prospect, and Cindy Kingsbury and her husband, Eric ,of Frankfort; four nieces and nephews, Erin, Michael, Breanne, and Evan; mother-in-law, Vertene Carter of Belfast; father-in-law, Edward Sullivan of Stoneham, Mass.; several aunts, uncles, and cousins including a special cousin, Marty McKeen of Stockton Springs; and many friends. Barney was predeceased by his grandparents; and one sister, Colleen DeRedin. Visitation for family and friends will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, 2004, at the Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport, where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, with Pastor Peter Remick officiating.
