BUCKSPORT – Grenville Stevens Bell, 88, died May 12, 2007, at Blue Hill. He was born Jan. 29, 1919, in Plymouth, N.H., the youngest son of the late Kenneth Gould and Anna Leslie (Welles) Bell. He graduated from Plymouth High School in 1936, worked briefly in construction before moving to Bucksport, where was employed at St. Regis Paper Co. for 43 years. Grenville married Nora F. Clement, Dec. 23, 1940, and they had 65 years together before her death in 2006. He is survived by two daughters, Bonnie B. Harvey of Verona Island and Ruth L. Bell of Bucksport; his son, Pastor Thomas Bell and his wife, Carol Lee, of Blodgett Mills, N.Y.; nine grandchildren, Holly Pelletier and her husband, Randy, of Verona Island, Thomas Harvey of Vinalhaven, Dane Harvey and his wife, Jessica, of Bucksport, Heather Hassapelis and her husband, Jay, of Stockton Springs, Hayley Smith and her husband, James Jr., of Bucksport, Brendan Harvey and his wife, Tiffany, of Bucksport, Jenny Gibbons and her husband, Ryerson Schwark, of West Linn, Ore., Brian Bell and his wife, Jody, of San Bernardino, Calif., and Nathan Bell of Washington, D.C.; 16 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, many special nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Nora F. (Clement) Bell; two brothers, Andrew Bell of New Hampshire and Kenneth Bell of Colorado; two sisters, Frances Volpe and Elizabeth Durgin, both of New Hampshire; great-grand-daughter, Tasha Maguire. Graveside memorial services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, May 17, at Riverview Cemetery, Bucksport. Arrangements by Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport.
