LUBEC – Guilford Carlton Scoville, 67, died Aug. 19, 2004, at Oceanview Nursing Home. He was born March 3, 1937, one of 12 children of Merle and Lorena (Moores) Scoville. He was in the Air Force from 1954 to 1958, serving in the Korean War. He graduated from Lubec High School. He was a chemist at American Cyanmid in Wallingford, Conn. He is survived by four children, Sheri Harabedian and husband, Ed, Crystal Hintz and husband, Art, Scott Scoville and Carrie-Lynn Scoville; two grandchildren, Nicolle Harabedian and Arlen Hintz; siblings, Clifton Scoville and wife, Karen of Maine, Grayson Scoville and wife, Natalie, of Texas, Hazel Avery of Maine, Carolyn Bucklin of Maine, Bernard Scoville of Louisiana. He was predeceased by siblings, Grace Evelyn Cooke, Merrill Scoville, Elizabeth Leslie, Bette Arees, Leonard Scoville and an infant sister. He will also be missed by good friends, Jim Olson, Afton Greene and Bud Quirk. Services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 22, at the West Lubec Methodist Church, followed by a reception at the American Legion Hall.
