PENOBSCOT – Gwendolyn M. Hinckley, 93, died Oct. 21, 2005, at a Blue Hill hospital. She was born May 5, 1912, in Brooklin, the daughter of Wilmont P. and Carrie (Nutter) Kane. She was a first grade teacher for 38 years, the majority of the time in Enfield, District 31. Gwendolyn was a lifetime member of the Maine Retired Teachers Association and DAV Auxiliary (Disabled Veterans Organization). Gwendolyn is survived by several nieces and nephews; special friends, Jean and Myrna Boutin and Leonard and Rena Pelletier. A very special thank you to all her caregivers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd M. Hinckley in 1995. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 24, at Jordan-Fernald, 141 South St., Blue Hill, with Pastor James Lufkin officiating. Interment at Brooklin Cemetery.
