STETSON – H. Darrel Seamans, 65, died peacefully Jan. 6, 2007, surrounded by his family at his home. He was born Dec. 5, 1941, in Corinna, son of Hollis and Margaret (Fogg) Seamans. He attended Corinna schools. Darrel was always very active in church work and attended the First Free Baptist Church, Dexter. He was employed at Dexter Shoe, the Hartland Tannery and was a self-employed carpenter. Darrel was a co-owner of Southern Auto Sales, Dexter, and owned and operated Seamans Rugs and Wallpaper for many years. Darrel was an avid sportsman and loved to spend time hunting and fishing with family and friends. He is survived by his mother of Dexter; his wife of 45 years, Carol (Andrews) Seamans of Stetson; two sons, Cary and his wife, Diane Seamans, of Old Orchard Beach and Darren Seamans of Newport; three treasured grandsons, who gave him great joy, Tyler and Zachary Seamans of Old Orchard Beach and Jared Seamans of Newport; three brothers, Trueman and his wife, Frances Seamans, of Dexter, Richard and his wife, Morita Seamans, of Corinna and David and his wife, Sue Seamans, of Lee, Mass.; two sisters, Jean and her husband, Ted Mountain, of Corinth and Faye Parker of Corinna; aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. He was predeceased by two brothers, Shirley and Robert; and a sister, Phyllis. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main St., Newport. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at the First Free Baptist Church, Dexter, with Pastor Will Walters officiating. Spring burial will be at North Newport Cemetery.
