HOWLAND – H. Lynn Drake, 85, husband of Connie B. (Threlkeld) Drake, died June 7, 2004, at a Lincoln hospital. He was born Feb. 27, 1919, in Carroll, the son of George C. and Rossie (Aldrich) Drake. Lynn was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, where he served in France and Germany, and took part in the Battle of the Bulge. He was self-employed during his working years. He raised bees and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, baseball and baking bean-hole-beans for the Masons. He was a 50-year member of Composite Lodge No. 168 AF & AM of LaGrange. In addition to his wife of 60 years (they were married June 14, 1944), Connie, he is survived by three daughters, Sheila Jones and her fianc?, Dennis Rhinehart, of Middleburg, Fla., Sherry and her husband, Wayne Campbell, of Millinocket, and Lisa and her husband, Tim Buck, of Lincoln; six grandchildren, Regina and her husband, Jim Topham, Jennifer and her husband, Tony Rice, Rachel Michaud, Jason Buck, Michael Buck and Scott Buck; two great-grandchildren, Tyler Rice and Emily Michaud; three sisters, Leola McGregor and Clarice McMullen, both of Howland, and Dorothy Young of Winterport; several nieces and nephews. He also leaves special hunting and fishing buddies, Sam Porter and Ralph Carr. He was predeceased by a son, Roger Paul Drake; infant brother and sister, Wayne and Thelma; brother, Ardie; and sisters, Effie Kennedy, Ruth DeWitt and Adeline Umbro. Friends may call at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, during which time a Masonic Memorial service will be held at 7:30. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Clayton Crocker officiating. Interment will be in Howland Cemetery.
