BANGOR – Harold Abner Baron, 88, a prominent Bangor businessman, died June 7, 2005, at his home in Bangor. He was born in Bangor, Aug. 2, 1916, son of Phillip and Jennie (Shiro) Baron. Harold was the founder and former owner of the Yellow Cab Co. and the present owner of B. Gas Co., both of Bangor. He was a member of Congregation Beth Israel and served as it’s president from 1979 – 1982 and was a former treasurer. Surviving are his wife, Rose M. Baron of Bangor; one daughter, Carol B. Lipton and her husband, William, of Commack, N.Y.; two grandsons, Jason Lipton and his wife, Abbe, of Sunny Isles, Fla., Bradley Lipton and his wife, Amy, of New York, N.Y.; a great-granddaughter, Samatha Lipton; one sister, Rita Baron of Bangor; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 12 noon Friday, June 10, 2005, at the Jewish Funeral Chapel, Center Street, Bangor. Interment will be in Beth Israel Cemetery, Bangor.
