BLUE HILL – Harold Benjamin Ledien, 86, died Aug. 19, 2007, at an Ells-worth hospital. He was born April 3, 1921, in Blue Hill, the son of Harold and Katherine (Sylvester) Ledien. Harold served in World War II in the U.S. Navy as a frogman and was on Omaha Beach in the European theatre, as well as being active in the Pacific theatre. He was an auto body man for 40 years, working at Ashmore Brothers, Inc., for the last several years before his retirement. Harold belonged to Halcyon Grange No. 345, Ira Berry Masonic Lodge No. 128, Duffy Wescott Post No. 85 and First Baptist Church, all of Blue Hill. He is survived by his wife, Lucy Mailloux Ledien; a son, Benjamin Randolph and wife, Debbie, of Blue Hill; two stepsons, Bruce Mailloux and wife, Rebecca, and Randy Mailloux and wife, Toni, all of Belfast; six grandchildren, Randy Ledien and wife, Carrie, of Virginia, Lisa Stephens and husband, Joe, of New York, Jennifer Williams and husband, Keith, of Blue Hill, Jessica Daigle and husband, Robert, of Glenburn, Erin Hutchins and husband, Eric, of Brooksville and Duane Ledien, of Florida; four stepgrandchildren, Dr. Benjamin Mailloux and wife, Robyn, of Virginia, Jana Howard and husband, Nathan, Tracie Kirkpatrick and husband, Steve, and Daniel Mailloux, all of Belfast; seven great-grandchildren, and six great-stepgrandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; great-great-grandson, Stephen III; and stepson, Malcolm Mailloux. At Harold’s request there will be no visitation. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, at First Baptist Church, Pleasant Street, Blue Hill, with the Rev. Stephen Heneise officiating. Interment will be 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, at South Blue Hill Cemetery.
