NORTH YARMOUTH and CARMEL – Harold Wayne Blackwell, 45, husband of Stacy (Dodge) Blackwell, died Dec. 3, 2004, at a Portland hospital after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born Feb. 21, 1959, in Bangor, the son of Shady and Evelyn (McPherson) Blackwell Sr. John attended Carmel Elementary School, Caravel Junior High, and Hermon High School. John was employed by Maine Distributors for several years. He moved to the Portland area in 1987, where he was employed by several area car dealerships. In 1995, he became employed by the Bill Dodge Auto Park in Westbrook, where he met his future wife, Stacy. He owned his own business in North Yarmouth, J. Blackwell Landscape and Design for the past two years. In addition to his wife, Stacy, he is survived by his father, Shady, of Carmel; three children, Michael, Timothy and Kati Blackwell, all of Bangor; seven brothers and sisters, Shady Blackwell Jr. and wife, Janet, of Old Town, Mary Perry and husband, Frank, of Carmel, David Blackwell and wife, Gundy, of Bangor, Diane Tozier of Bangor, Linda Blackwell of Bangor, Daniel Blackwell and wife, Melba, of Bangor, Rebecca Foley and husband, Jim, of Winterport; one aunt, Charlotte McPherson of Orono; one uncle, Harold “Bud” McPherson of Winterport; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. He will be sadly missed by his cat, Pepper. Relatives and friends may call 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, at Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Patricia Moore officiating. Spring interment will be in Highland Cemetery, Carmel. Those who wish may make contributions in his memory to their local humane society.
