MONTVILLE – Harrison Everett Davis, 84, passed away Oct. 4, 2006, surrounded by his family. He was born Sept. 6, 1922, the youngest of 16 children born to Ernest and Chessell (Bryant) Davis. He graduated from the Walker School, Liberty in 1940 and went on to attend the University of Maine – Orono, but interrupted his studies to join the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. After the war, he returned to the University of Maine and graduated in 1948. He was a long-time resident of Andover, Mass. After retiring in 1986, he returned to his beloved Maine to be close to family and to enjoy his pastimes of fishing, hunting and gardening. He is survived by his wife, Rosemarie Billie (Hannigan) Davis; three sisters, Theo Walker of Milford, Mass., Vanessa Fuller of South Portland and Rachel Johnson of South Montville; son, John Hamilton and his wife, Joanne, of Montville; daughter, Debra and husband, George Mayo, of Amherst, N.H.; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Hamilton of Salem, N.H., Krys Bernabeo of Greenfield, N.H., Tara McDonald of Ashby, Mass., Garrett Mayo of Amherst, N.H.; five great-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 8, at Pine Grove Cemetery, Searsmont.
