HOULTON – Harry E. McGuire Jr., 81, died July 6, 2005, at his residence. He was born March 21, 1924 at Houlton, the son of Harry E. and Birdie (White) McGuire. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the National Guard for more than 20 years. He was a member of the Military Street Baptist Church, the VFW, the American Legion and the Odd Fellows. He is survived by his wife, Josephine (Shaw) McGuire of Houlton; three sons, Larry McGuire and his wife, Glenna, of Littleton, Robert McGuire and his wife, Gerry, of New Limerick, Dale McGuire and his wife, Carmen, of Hodgdon; one daughter, Linda Eleiott and her husband, Malcolm, of Houlton; two brothers, Richard McGuire of Massachusetts, John McGuire of Old Orchard; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Harry E. McGuire, III; his sister, Stella Thibodeau and one grandson, Jason Eleiott. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Thursday, at the Dunn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday at the Military Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Randall Burns officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
