SEARSPORT – Sonny Fraser, 67, died unexpectedly at home on Jan. 27, 2004. He was born March 24, 1936, in Belfast, the son of Hartley C. and Marie E. (Russ) Fraser. He graduated from Stockton Springs High School in 1954. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed for many years at Bangor and Aroostook Rail Road and I.T.O. Corporation. He was self-employed for many years. Sonny loved boats and being on or near the water. He enjoyed the business of selling cars and was known for running Sonny’s Auto Sales for years. He loved to watch wrestling and was often teased by his friends who called him “The Blue Cyclone.” Survivors include his son, Jack Fraser and wife, Sue, of Searsport; his daughter, Sonja Feero and husband, Andy, of Colorado; and wife, Andrea of Searsport; seven brothers, William, Ted, Brent, Brian, all of Stockton Springs, Doug of Searsport, Keith of Arizona, and Kevin of Missouri; three sisters, Geraldine Dunphy of Brooks, Sandra Williams of Detroit, and Lisa Fraser of Arizona; six grandchildren, Jack Jr., Ian, Bradley, Daryl, Sarah and Ryan; one great-grandchild, Devon; and several nieces and nephews. There will be memorial services held 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, at Stockton Springs Community Church. Burial will be held in the spring at the Mt. Prospect Cemetery in Stockton Springs, near his mother and father. He will be missed greatly by all those who knew and loved him.
