WINTER HARBOR and BANGOR – Hazel A. Brown, 76, wife of Frederick A. Brown Jr., for 50 years died April 21, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. She was born June 1, 1927, in Winter Harbor, the daughter of Dorothy Coombs. She was employed by the Credit Bureau of Bangor and then owned and operated the Bangor Service Agency for many years. Hazel enjoyed gardening, cooking, and her grandchildren. She was a member and past president of the local chapter of Credit Women International Association. Surviving in addition to her husband Frederick A. Brown Jr. of Bangor are one son, David A. Brown of Bangor; two grandchildren, Cassidy and Cameron Brown; two half sisters, Sandra Cayford of Bangor and Patricia Clark of Bangor; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 23, 2004, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Dr. Randall C. Chretien, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Bangor, officiating. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor.
