MAPLETON – Hazel (Tingley) Giggey, 92, wife of the late Chester W. Giggey, died July 27, 2007, in Presque Isle. She was born April 10, 1915, in Presque Isle, the daughter of David A. and Alvada (Briggs) Tingley. Hazel was a long time and very active member of West Chapman Advent Christian Church. She served the church in many capacities and especially enjoyed helping to raise funds for camp NOMACA. Her spirit of giving of herself for her community was reflected in the many hours she spent volunteering with R.S.V.P. Hazel was very interested in helping with special events in her community and did what ever she could to make them a success. In addition to her parents and husband, Hazel was predeceased by three sons, Michael, Stephen and Larry Giggey. Surviving her are five sons, Neal Giggey and his wife, Judith, of Maui, Hawaii, William Giggey and his wife, Debra, and Terry Giggey, all of Delray, Fla., Jerry Giggey of Sheriden and Brent Giggey of New Hampshire; daughters Nancy West of Indianapolis, Cynthia Gordon and her husband, David, of Anna, Texas, Marilyn Hensler and her husband, Ronald, of Maryland Heights, Mo., and Cathy Fox and her husband, Curtis, of Del Rio, Texas; a sister, Dora Longley of Brunswick; sister-in-laws, Marian Tingley of Sparks, Nev., and Cova Giggey of Brunswick; 30 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday at West Chapman Advent Christian Church, Chapman, where friends may call noon, officiated by Pastors Kenneth Fox and Nathan Gardiner.
