ADDISON and JONESPORT Hazel G. Crowley, 84, passed away peacefully June 8, 2005, with her husband by her side at the Sunrise Care Facility after an extended illness. She was born July 1, 1920, in Addison, the daughter of Augustus Gray and Emma Gray Seavey. She attended Addison schools. She was a member of the former Reorganized Latter Day Saints Church, now named The Community of Christ. Hazel was very active in the Women’s Department, and was also a Skylark Leader; she also cooked many a summer for the Reunions at the Camp Grounds in Brooksville. Hazel also worked for many years at the William Underwood Factory, packing sardines until they closed. She also worked at Rest Haven Nursing Home. After moving to Sanford she worked at Brooks Woolen Mill as a spinner, where she retired. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Calvin; a son, Dale Crowley and his wife, Dorothea, all of Addison; a daughter, Velma Farnsworth and her husband, John, of Hebron; a son, Michael Crowley of Shapleigh; nine grandchildren, Teresa Crowley of Alfred, Sharon Townsend and her husband, Henry, of Lyman, Danielle Whitten and her husband, Donald, of Wells, Dale Crowley Jr. and his wife, Judy, of Waterboro, John Farnsworth, Jr. and his wife, Anne, of Arundel, Janel Tardy and her husband, Gregory, of New York, Shanna Vincent and her husband, Mathew, of Ellsworth, Jessica Crowley and Michael Crowley Jr. of Sanford; 19 great-grand-children; a brother-in- law, Virgil Crowley and his wife, Nadine; and a sister-in-law, Charlotte Crowley of Addison; a special niece, Beatrice Huntley Urquhart; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Hazel was predeceased by her parents; and stepfather, Clifford Seavey; her brothers, Maynard, Maurice, Robert, and Chester Gray; and a sister, Laura Gray. There will not be a funeral. Graveside services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be sent to the Sunrise Care Facility, Attn. Ed Fournier, P.O. Box 507, Jonesport, ME 04649.
