CALAIS – Hazel H. Crossman, 93, passed to rest Saturday, March 12, 2005. Mrs. Crossman was born July 27, 1911, in Calais, daughter of the late Harley and Sadie (Howard) Clark. She was a graduate of Calais Academy, Class of 1928. She was employed at Canadian Cottons, Ware Knitters, and Calais Regional Hospital as a nurses aide, where she retired after 25 years of service. Mrs. Crossman was a founding member of the Milltown Seventh-day Adventist Church. She served as president of the Women’s Good Will Club of the Seventh-day Adventist Church for many years. She also enjoyed spending summers at Howard Lake with family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Elton Crossman in 1950; her son, David Crossman; “like a son”, Albion Blanchard; and great-grandson, Barry Malloch Jr.; brothers, Harley and Lloyd Clark; sisters, Jennie Porter, Mildred Shay, and Arlene Peterson. She is survived by two daughters-in-law, Nina Crossman of Alexander and Lucy Blanchard of Titusville, Fla.; special niece, Jean Wood of Milltown; two grandchildren, Elton Crossman and wife, Mary, of Robbinston and Deborah Malloch and husband, Barry, of Alexander; six great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins, who remember her lovingly as “Aunt Hay”. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 14, at Scott-Wilson Funeral Home, Calais. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, at the Milltown Seventh-day Adventist Church on Chapel Street. Burial will follow at the Calais Cemetery. Friends who wish may make donations in her memory to the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
