LIBERTY – Heather Ann Lappin, 21, formerly of Union passed away from complications from cystic fibrosis. Heather was born May 15, 1983, in Belfast. She graduated from Medomak Valley High School in the class of 2001. She was a cheerleader all four years of high school, it was her passion. She enjoyed anything to do with the outdoors including snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, boating and animals. She also lettered in track and field. In her senior year of high school she graduated as a CNA at the top of her class. During high school she worked as a CNA at Windward Gardens in Camden, and at Penobscot Bay Medical Center, in Rockport. She attended University of Southern Maine, majoring in Nursing. She attended Barbizon School of Modeling in Boston. She participated in the Miss Teen USA pageant and the Blueberry pageant at the Union Fair. She married John Lappin on July 10, 2004, and they made their home in Liberty. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. She loved playing with her little sissy, Kassi Soule. She enjoyed going to camp at Moosehead Lake, where she spent many good times with friends who were like a family to her. She had many long time friends who helped through her years with Cystic Fibrosis which included Katie, Derek, Georgia, and Rich. She was predeceased by her paternal grandmother, Judith Turner; maternal grandfather, Paul Bunker; aunt, Darlene Turner and by her companion through childhood, her dog, Brandi. She is survived by her husband, John Lappin, of Liberty; mother, Myrna, and her husband, Peter Soule, of Union; father, Maurice Turner, of Freedom; maternal grandmother, Joyce Bunker, of Belfast; paternal grandfather, Elwin Turner, of Freedom; brother, Craig Turner, and his wife, April, of Montville; sister, Kassi Soule, of Union; stepsister, Katherine Ames, and her husband, Donald, of Warren; stepbrother, Kevin Soule, and his wife, Debbie, of Union; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Linda and Hank Gascoyne, of Burnham; sister-in-law, Aubrey Lappin, of Unity; brother-in-law, Daniel Lappin of Hawaii; great-grandmother, Elsie McDonald, of Freedom; nephews, Westley and William Turner, of Montville, Justin Ames, of Warren, Ryan Soule, of Union; nieces, Macaela Humphrey, of Unity, Kristin Ames, of Warren, Samantha Soule, of Union; Aunt Paula Bourassa, and her husband, John, of Waldo; uncles, Dan Blair and his fianc?e, Jena, of Shreveport, La., Blaine Bunker, and his wife, Donna, of Albion, David Bunker, and his wife, Jane, of Morrill, Timothy Turner, and his wife, Tammy, of Freedom, Dennis Turner, and his wife, Vicki, of Monroe; and many cousins. An hour of visitation will be held from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25, at the Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro. The funeral will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, at the Peoples United Methodist Church in Union. The Rev. Michelle Grube will officiate.
