FORT FAIRFIELD – Helen B. McDougal, 84, died Saturday morning, Jan. 8, 2005, at a Bangor healthcare facility following a brief illness. She was born Sept. 4, 1920, at Fort Fairfield, the daughter of William and Madeline (Delano) McDougal. Helen attended Fort Fairfield schools, was employed for many years at the former Community General Hospital, Fort Fairfield, and was a communicant of the St. Denis Catholic Church, Fort Fairfield. In addition to her parents, Helen was predeceased by her sister, Annie Austin; five brothers, Raymond, Preston, Cecil, Ralph and Perley McDougal; three sisters-in-law, Irene McDougal, Helen T. McDougal and Isabelle McDougal. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, including two special nieces, Pat Mitchell and her husband, Mitch, of Cuba, Ill., Gloria Kinney of Fort Fairfield; great nephew Jeff Mitchell and his wife, Julie, and their children, Jared, Jillian, and Jonathan Mitchell, all of Lebanon, Ill. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 10, 2005, from at the Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield, where a vigil service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. by the Rev. Jean-Paul LaBrie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, at the St. Denis Catholic Church, 147 Main St., Fort Fairfield, with the Rev. Jean-Paul LaBrie, celebrant. Interment will take place at the St. Denis Catholic Cemetery, Fort Fairfield later in the spring. Relatives and friends are invited to join in a time of fellowship at the V.F.W. Paul-Lockhart Post No. 6187, Presque Isle St., Fort Fairfield immediately following the funeral mass.
