BREWER and LEOMINSTER, Mass. – Helen G. Brown, 85, passed away Nov. 19, 2007, at a Brewer health care center, after battling multiple myeloma for two years. Helen was born Aug. 6, 1922, in Fitchburg, Mass., the daughter of Cyril and Helen (Gile) Pomerleau. She was a longtime resident of Leominster, Mass. Helen relocated to Maine in 1997 after the death of her husband, Gordon S. Brown, to live closer to family. She lived a very happy life in Brewer, making friends and visiting family often. She was a member of St. Teresa’s Church and became involved in the Women’s Sodality, and was a vital member of the craft club. She gave of her time and many talents to those she knew. She was well known to all for her endless love of cats. She is survived by one son, Spencer G. Brown and his wife, Nancy, of Brewer; three grandchildren, Daniel Brown and his wife, Heather, of Bangor, Michael Brown of Port Orange, Fla., and Kimberly Fournier and her husband, David, of New Gloucester; five great-grandchildren, Paige and David Brown and Andrew, William and Matthew Fournier; nieces and nephews, Debbie Pomerleau, a devoted niece who lives in Colorado, wrote daily to Helen. The many friends of Helen are also to be thanked for their constant support to her after moving to Brewer Rehab and Living Center. Helen’s last year was made so much better by the loving care she received from the staff at Brewer Rehab and Living Center. Family and friends may visit 4-7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26, at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church, South Main Street, Brewer, with the Rev. Robert C. Vaillancourt, pastor, celebrant.
