CHERRYFIELD – Helen M. Tibbetts, 91, died Oct. 5, 2004, at Marshall Health Care Center in Machias. She was born Jan. 23, 1913, at Springvale, the daughter of the late Robert and Grace (Blanchard) Bride. Helen resided in Cherryfield more than 50 years. Helen was a member of the Historical Society of Cherryfield and also the Porter-Parsonfield Historical Society. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cherryfield since 1950. She was a very giving and loving person and will be sadly missed. She is survived by her three children; son, Reginald Durgin and wife, Goldie, of East Rochester, N.H.; daughter, Elaine Adjutant and husband, Leon, of Ossipee, N.H., and daughter, Lois Durgin, of Machias; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; seven great- great-grandchildren; sister, Doris Nason, of Sanford; a niece; nephew; and several cousins. She was predeceased by the father of her children, Gilman Durgin; and her husband, M. Gordon Tibbetts. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8, 2004, at the First Baptist Church, Cherryfield. Burial will follow at the Pine Grove Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Bragdon-Kelley-Camp-bell Funeral Home, Milbridge.
