EAST MACHIAS – Henry “Hank” C. Knowlton Jr., 76, passed away unexpectedly March 17, 2007, at his home. He was born April 8, 1930, in Hampden, the son of the late Henry C. Knowlton Sr. and Priscilla (Elliott) Knowlton. Hank worked for 15 years at Dakin Sporting Goods, Bangor. He also worked for 25 years as a dispatcher for the Bangor Fire Department. Hank enjoyed fishing. He loved spending time with his family and pets. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Doris (Scott) Knowlton; one daughter, Nancy Maroney and husband, Tom, of Auburn; one sister, Anne DeCelles of Hartford, Conn.; sister-in-law, Ellen Weed and husband, Calvin, of Ellsworth; brother-in-law, Roy Scott and companion, Loleta McKee, of East Machias; brother-in-law, Richard Tuell of East Machias; brother-in-law, Fernald Scott and wife, Gail, of Yarmouth; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Hank was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Barrett; and a sister-in-law, Betty Tuell. Per Hank’s wishes there will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be announced at a later date.
