MILLINOCKET – Henry P. Seile, 85, passed away peacefully Friday, June 13, 2008, at a Lincoln health care facility. He was born Jan. 30, 1923, in Benedicta, son of Fenton and Mary (Rogan) Seile. He attended the Benedicta school system. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, in Europe. He worked for several local potato farms early in his life before going to work for Sherman Lumber Co. He often told stories of the hard work and good friends he made working in the woods and staying in the woods camps. He went to work for Great Northern Paper Co., in 1955, working in the paper room for 32 years until his retirement. Henry was very dedicated to his family and spared no effort in supporting their needs and “projects” through the years. Holiday get-togethers at Nana and Papa’s were very special for neighbors, as well as the whole extended family. Though he worked and raised his family in Millinocket, he never forgot his roots in “The County” and his many close friends there: the Qualeys, Kellys, Rogans and Rushes, and many more who touched his long life. Henry enjoyed camping, snowmobiling and hunting – mostly legal in his later years. He was never happier than when family and friends got together. There will never be an easier touch for a dog to bum a treat from. Henry was predeceased by his wife, Muriel (Davis) Seile; his eldest child, Donna (Seile) Farley; two bothers, Maurice and Leo; and five sisters, Isabelle, Irene, Helen, Loretta and Rita. He is survived by four children, Michael, Mamie and Julie of Millinocket and Chris of Milton, Pa.; seven grandchildren, Jeff and Todd Farley, Susan Lauritano, Michael Seile Jr., Karen Seile, Jules and Robert Michaud; and seven great-grandchildren. Rest easy Papa, we’ll keep the home fires burning for you now. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service 1 p.m. Thursday, June 19, at Millinocket Congregational Church. Gifts in memory of Henry may be sent to Penobscot Valley Humane Society, 1 Park Ave., Lincoln, ME 04462.
