MONSON and SCITUATE, Mass. – Herbert R. Dwyer, 95, died May 31, 2007, in Monson, after a brief illness. Husband of the late Jeanne M. (Bresnahan), he was born in 1912, in Somerville, Mass. He graduated from Scituate (Mass.) High School in 1930, and later studied law at Northeastern University. He was a former owner of the original Gannett Grill, North Scituate, Mass., and Sargent’s Donut Shop, Scituate Harbor, Mass., and worked at Fore River shipyard, Quincy, Mass., Hatherly Country Club and Gaffey Funeral and Limousine Services, Scituate, Mass. He served his country in the Army during World War II and the Korean War, attaining the rank of captain. He held the position of fence viewer for the town of Scituate, Mass., for more than 30 years. He is survived by his children, Kathleen Jones and her husband, Kenneth, of Monson and Dover-Foxcroft, Patricia Dwyer of Stockholm, Sweden, Terence Dwyer and his wife, Dena, of Duxbury, Mass., and Jeanne Grazier and her husband, Mark, of Albuquerque, N.M.; two granddaughters, Coll-een Dwyer and Emma Grazier; many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, June 23, at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Scituate Harbor, Mass. The family request no flowers. Donations may be made in his memory to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, Brookline, MA 02445.
