SEARSMONT – Howard W. Clark, 86, passed away March 28, 2008, at home, after a long illness. He was born April 3, 1921, in Searsmont. Howard and his ancestors have resided at the Clark Home-stead on Moody Mountain, Searsmont, for approximately 250 years. He was a farmer, as well as being a road commissioner for the town of Sears-mont, and did road work for the state of Maine. Howard was able to remain at home until his death thanks to Kno-Wal-Lin Hospice. He was predeceased by his father, Walter Clark; mother, Abbie Vose Clark; brother, Orman Hopkins; and sister, Thel-ma Clark. He is survived by his wife, Jennie Pearse Clark; two stepsons, Basil Pearse Jr. and wife, Arlinda and Paul Pearse and wife, Alice, all of Sears-mont; a nephew, Earl Hopkins and wife, Barbara; sister-in-law, Min Hopkins, all of New Hamp-shire; five grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, great- great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held later in the spring. Those who wish may make donations in Howard’s memory to Sears-mont Methodist Church, P.O.
