ZWOLLE, La. and LITTLETON – Huey A. Tuttle “Local Skip,” 67, was called home to the Lord Aug. 23, 2006, surrounded by his family. He was born Dec. 31, 1938, in Many, La. He married Doris Henderson Tuttle in 1957, in Houlton, where they resided until 1997. Huey was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to many. He was a veteran of the Air Force. He was self-employed for most of his life, owning several businesses including Littleton Gas, Littleton and H.T. Trading Post, Zwolle, La. He enjoyed life to the fullest with his family and friends. Huey was predeceased by his parents, Dave and Myrtle Tuttle of Zwolle, La.; two brothers, Harold “Jack” Tuttle of Lake Charles, La., and Bobby Tuttle of San Antonio; one sister, Betty Woods of Hempill, Texas; three brothers-in-law, Avis Champion of Zwolle, La., J.W. “Sonny” Farris of Mansfield, Texas, and Gene Henderson of Littleton; sisters-in-law, Selma Tuttle of Houghtonn, La. and Mackie Tuttle of Lake Charles, La. Huey is survived by his loving wife and partner of 48 years and nine months, Doris Henderson Tuttle; three children, Lynn Wilmot and husband, Mark, of Zwolle, La., Lori Vincs and husband, Eddie, of Zwolle, La. and Robert “Bob” Tuttle and wife, Barbara, of Ville Platte, La.; grandchildren, Jeremy Wilmot of Plano, Texas, Sarah (Wilmot) Bull and husband, Joseph, of Zwolle, La., Betty Jo Vines of Zwolle, La., and Tassie and Jake Long of Ville Platte, La.; brothers, F.B. “Bill” Tuttle of Lemoore, Calif., David “Earl” Tuttle of Houghton, La.; sisters, Oneida “Nita” Gartner of Blanchard, La., Bertha Champion of Zwolle, La., and Joyce Farris of Zwolle, La.; brothers-in-law, Walter “Jimmy” Woods of Hemphill, Texas, Jack Gartner of Lufkin, Texas, and Floyd Reed of Houlton; sisters-in-law, Sally Reed of Houlton, Jean Henderson of Houlton, Ozzie Tuttle of Lemoore, Calif., and Thelma Tuttle of San Antonio; numerous nieces, nephew, great-nieces and great-nephews, including one special nephew, Floyd “Jay” Reed of Houlton. His last wishes were that there be no services. As a lifelong supporter of children’s organizations, his wishes were that in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to St. Jude’s or any other group that helps children.
