WAYNETOWN, Ind. – Iona Madeline Elmore, 91, passed away Feb. 4, 2007, at George Davis Manor Nursing Home, West Lafayette, Ind. She was born Sept. 13, 1915, near Brewer, the daughter of the late Alverta E. and Carrie F. Gray. She married Ethridge Elmore March 23, 1941, in Chicago. She later married Lester DuVall. She graduated from Brewer High School in 1933. She and her husband owned a restaurant in Quincy, Calif. She later became a nurse and worked at Mesa Lutheran Hospital until she retired. She and her husband, Ethridge, were charter members and deacons of East Mesa Christian Church. She is survived by a sister, Lora Donnell; and brothers, Foster, Lloyd and Junior Gray and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husbands; sisters, Mildred Miller and Erma; brothers, Marshall, Norman, Owen, Olin, Kenneth and Forrest Gray. A burial of her ashes will take place at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery, Waynetown, Ind. Arrangements by Shoemaker Funeral Home, Waynetown, Ind.
