SACO – Iona W. Reed, 79, a resident of Seal Rock Healthcare Facility, Saco, a former resident of Woodlawn Avenue, Portland, died Wednesday evening, Feb. 21, 2007, with her family at her side at her residence after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Reed was born Dec. 11, 1927, in Columbia Falls, a daughter of Llewellyn D. Worcester and Ruth E. Tibbetts. She was the widow of Phillip E. Reed who died in 2005. She attended and graduated from Columbia Falls High School. After her marriage and move to Portland, she was employed with the Union Mutual Insurance Co., in their accounting department. She retired after more than 20 years of service with the company. She enjoyed making and working with ceramics. She also enjoyed reading and being with her family. She is survived by one son, Kendall E. Reed and his wife, Anne, of North Berwick; one daughter, Gayle Wescott and her husband, Frank, of Windham; one sister, Mrs. Florence Serpico of Saco; four grandchildren, four great-grand-children, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11a.m. Monday, Feb. 26, at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St., Kennebunk. Friends may call 10-11 a.m. Monday at the Chapel.
