NORTH SEARSPORT – Irene E. Lockhart, 77, went home to be with her Lord Sunday, Oct. 12, 2003, at a Bangor healthcare facility. She was born May 18, 1926, at Swanville, the daughter of Earl L. and Edith (Howe) Smart. She worked at Jordan’s Restaurant in Searsport and at the former McClellan’s store in Belfast. Irene’s varied interests included crossword puzzles, bingo, crocheting, her family and friends and reading her bible. She was a member of the Granite Grange at North Searsport and currently was a member of the Swanville Community Church. Irene was predeceased by her husband, Wallace B. Lockhart; and her brother, Ralph Smart. Survivors include her nine children, Wallace and Beth Lockhart of Searsport, Mrs. Larry “Donna” Walker of Swanville, Robert and “Paula” Lockhart of Alabama, Mrs. George “Patricia” Parker of Searsport, Linda Tibbets and Toby Fox of Searsport, Edith Knowles of Stockton Springs, Keith and Denise Lockhart of Massachusetts, John and Dorothy Lockhart of Belfast, Cheryl Stimpson of Florida; five brothers and sisters, Clarence Smart of Connecticut, Mrs. Gerald “Sylvia” Raymond of Searsport, Richard and Monica Smart of Florida, Mrs. Ronald “Ruth” Way of Hampden, Mrs. Gary “Rachel” Philbrick of Belmont; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Ralph “Gladys” Smart of Searsport; three step-children; 12 step-grandchildren; and a special friend, Maxine Hartley of Hermon. Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, at the Swanville Community Church, with Rev. John Evens officiating. Calling hours are 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Rackliffe Funeral Home, 54 Church St., Belfast.
