GRAND ISLE – Irene Le Vasseur, 92, died March 14, 2006, at a Fort Kent hospital. She was born in St. Ann, N.B., Canada, the daughter of Michel and Modeste (Martin) Devost. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Ann. She is survived by four sons, Mathew “Bernie” and his wife, Patsy, of Grand Isle, Edward and his wife, Jackie, of Madawaska, Joel of Damariscotta and the Rev. Angelo Le Vasseur of Rumford; four grandchildren, Louise and her husband, Mark Papka, of South Dakota, Michael Le Vasseur of Sanford, Mario and Inna Le Vasseur of Virginia Beach, Va. and Wayne and Sandra Le Vasseur of Edmundston, N.B.; and three great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Lewis B. Le Vasseur; four brothers, Leonide, Patrick, Thomas and Mack; and five sisters, Annie, Corinne, Ozithe, Ida and Sophie. Friends and relatives may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-10:30 a.m. Friday, at the Michaud Funeral Home in St. Agatha. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, at the St. Gerard, Mount Carmel Church in Grand Isle, concelebrant Mass with the Rev. Angelo Le Vasseur, officiating. Burial in St. Gerard Cemetery in the spring. For those who desire, donations may be made to Catholic Charities of Maine in Caribou. Envelopes available at the funeral home.
