BANGOR – Irene Lillian (Perry) Stimpson moved on to be with her late husband of 48 years, Milton E. Stimpson, March 14, 2007. She was born in Winterport to Newell and Mabel Perry. She was the most loved matriarch, mother and grandmother, kind and generous to all she ever met. She worked for Northwestern Mutual Life and then in the family businesses for many years. She is survived by her three children, she loved to the very end, Stephen Milton Stimpson and wife, Tina M., of Bangor, Fern M. (Stimpson) Eckstein and husband, Dennis C., of Indiana, and Clayton S. Stimpson and his wife, Donna M., of Belfast; 11 grandchildren, Jack I. Stimpson, whom she choose to be at her side at her passing, Lillian Irene B. Stimpson, Stephen M. Stimpson II, all of Bangor, Rachel A. Eckstein of Chicago, Nathan C. Eckstein, Jason I. Eckstein, both of Indiana, Heather l. Stimpson, Elizabeth R. Warman, Katherine A. Stimpson, Hannah N. Stimpson, all of Belfast, and Bran D. Stimpson of Colorado and his mother, Joan Stimpson of Delaware; as well as a multitude of relatives. She also left behind several nieces and nephews from her two sisters, whom passed away ahead of her, Avis Rainey and husband, Thornton “Bill” and their five lovely children, and Ruth Ginn and husband, Richard and their two kind children. Irene will be sadly missed by all the many lives she touched, to many to mention. She took everyone at face value in life and never judged anyone. It is with deep sorrow, that we all face her passing knowing what she meant to all of us. A fine lady throughout her life, she lived with dignity and respect from everyone she ever met. She wished to have people remember her with joy and not sadness, she lived a full life and enjoyed it up to the end. Do not cry for she is happy with her husband, but rejoice in the blessings knowing her has brought each of you; do not mourn her passing, but be joyful for her time with us all. God bless all from the bottom of all of our hearts. Visitation for family and friends will be noon-2 p.m. Sunday, March 18, at Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor, where a funeral service will be held 2 p.m. to be performed by her daughter, Fern. A reception will be held after the service at her niece’s beautiful home, Carol Johnson’s in Prospect. Interment will be in May in Patten. Flowers or donations may be sent or left at the funeral home.
