CARIBOU – Irene Thibodeau, 90, wife of the late Robert Thibodeau, died July 30, 2008, in Van Buren. She was born Nov. 14, 1917, in Hamlin, the daughter of Peter and Edna (Cormier) Martin. Irene was a loving and devoted wife and mother to her family. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, where she was also a member of the Golden Age, Ladies of St. Anne, Daughters of Isabella and Eucharist ministers. She was also a member of Ladies Auxiliary to the Knights of Columbus and Union St. Jean of Baptiste. She is survived by six sons, Clifton Thibodeau and his wife, Joan, Gordon Thibodeau and his wife, Nancy, Harold Thibodeau and his wife, Jeanne, Danny Thibodeau and his wife, Bonnie, all of Caribou, Brian Thibodeau and his wife, Natalie, of New Hampshire, and Mark Thibodeau and his fiancee, Cathy, of Winslow; five daughters, Robertine Martin of Inola, Okla., Leola Guerrette and her husband, Reg, of Scottsdale, Ariz., Arlene Fournier and her husband Frankie, Joyce Peterson and her husband, Bob, all of Caribou, and Elsie Swierczewski Lendner and her husband, Lou, of New York; two sisters, Carmen Thibodeau and her husband, Alben, of Caribou and Pauline Ouellette of Van Buren; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Norman, Conrad and Gerald Martin; and three sisters, Gertrude Ouellette, Alfreda Doucette and Arlene Martin. Friends may call 3-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with Father Aaron Damboise, associate pastor officiating in a Mass of Christian burial.
